Amanda de Souza, Ph.D.
Regional Application Leader – Latin America, Grain Processing – Health & Biosciences
Amanda de Souza joined IFF in 2010 as a researcher to support the implementation of the Bioprocess Laboratory in Brazil. Since then, she has gained expertise on ethanol fermentation from various feedstocks. In her current role, de Souza leads the Latin America Grain Processing team that is responsible for customer support and product development, focusing on enzyme and yeast solutions that address the specific needs of Latin American customers’ processes.
In 2015, de Souza was instrumental in the implementation and expansion of the regional Application Laboratory that supports the Grain Processing, Animal Nutrition, and Microbial Control businesses in Latin America.
Prior to joining IFF, de Souza was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Sergipe.
De Souza holds a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, a master’s degree in carbohydrate metabolism, and a Ph.D. in secondary metabolites, from the University of Sao Paulo.
